When you sit down with Benny Porat, you feel the engineer\u2019s mindset immediately: a deep instinct to open things up, take them apart, and rebuild them stronger. That instinct\u2014cultivated since childhood, when he and his family would repair broken gadgets rather than replace them\u2014has defined his entrepreneurial journey from co-founding Claroty to now leading Twine Security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Porat recalls that growing up, there was never the option to say, \u201cIt\u2019s broken, buy a new one.\u201d Instead, his father would insist they fix it. That hands-on resilience became a family trait, one Porat is now determined to pass on to his own kids. \u201cThe most important gift you can give a child,\u201d he reflected, \u201cis a sense of capability. To believe they can solve problems on their own.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That ethos carried him through Claroty, one of Israel\u2019s most successful cybersecurity startups, where he served as CTO. Claroty pioneered operational technology (OT) security, protecting critical infrastructure from industrial cyber threats. The company\u2019s trajectory revealed a paradox Porat couldn\u2019t shake: even when technology detected risks, organizations often struggled to remediate them. \u201cTechnology alone can\u2019t close the loop,\u201d he told me. \u201cExecution depends on people and processes.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That realization sparked his next venture\u2014Twine Security\u2014where Porat and his team are building what he calls AI Digital Employees. These are not generic AI copilots but contextual experts, embedded in security workflows, who can analyze risks, understand organizational context, and interact with humans to drive resolution. \u201cIn security, you don\u2019t just need findings\u2014you need actions,\u201d he said. \u201cAI Digital Employees bridge that gap.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
