Susanne Senoff recalls a time early in her security career when a former colleague would insist that meetings take place in his office. But the office was papered with lewd materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
HR let it stand, she recalled, because he was so good. \u201cThat would never happen now,\u201d said Senoff, now CISO at Conga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her point wasn’t that the problem was solved. Senoff was speaking alongside two founders, Shahar Bahat of Pluto Security and Yael Fraiman of Predict Security, who described a different barrier: fewer overt acts and more assumptions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Fraiman said women interviewing at startups still worry about whether to disclose that they have children. Her friends debate how much to share about their private lives: \u201cShould I share that I\u2019m married?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bahat described the funding version. Before she began raising capital, she recalled how someone once advised her that she would be better off \u201cshowing up without a ring.\u201d<\/a> In our conversation, she said she ignored the advice: \u201cI did raise money with a ring because I don\u2019t want it to be a matter.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
