The flight to Crete is remarkably short – just an hour and a half in the air. The moment the kids head off to the kids’ club or the water park is the ideal moment to slip away for an hour or more of pampering at the hotel’s spa. The spa offers a rich menu of treatments, blending international techniques with a Mediterranean philosophy of relaxation. Alongside the treatment rooms, there’s also a dry sauna, a wet sauna, a comfortable wellness area and a well-equipped gym for those who want to keep up their workout routine even on vacation.
A Rich Table, Without Feeling Crowded
One of the things that stands out most at SENSEANA is the main dining room, where all three meals – breakfast, lunch and dinner – are served buffet-style, with a rich and varied selection. Anyone who has stayed at a large all-inclusive resort knows the less-than-pleasant feeling of jostling at the food stations, queuing for every dish, and general noise that makes for anything but a relaxed meal. At this hotel, however, despite the rich menu and wide selection, there’s no sense of crowding. The space is well laid out, the food stations are spacious, and the result is a pleasant, relaxed meal.
The touch that turns mealtimes into a real experience is the live entertainment: on weekends, during breakfast and dinner, a vocalist performs live music for guests. This isn’t just pleasant background décor – it’s exactly the small detail that lends the hotel the exclusive, distinctive feel usually reserved for luxury hotels and restaurants.
Alongside the main buffet restaurant, the hotel also features two à la carte restaurants – Greek and Italian – each with a rich, varied menu that includes starters, mains, desserts and drinks. This is the point where the family vacation can level up into a culinary experience for parents and children alike – an evening at the Greek restaurant with authentic local flavors (it’s worth requesting a table with a sea view), or an Italian feast at the restaurant next door.
By the way, anyone who wants to combine time on the beach with the hotel’s tranquility should ask staff to pack a picnic basket – complete with wraps, fresh fruit and light drinks – grab a comfortable chair and umbrella, and spend a full afternoon on the beach.
The SENSEANA Secret
The hotel’s rooms were designed in a similar spirit – maximum comfort alongside close attention to detail. Every room comes with robes and slippers, luxury bath products, a hair dryer, a spacious walk-in shower, high-quality mattresses and feather pillows, individually controlled air conditioning, double-glazed windows for noise insulation, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, a complimentary minibar on arrival, a coffee and tea corner, a laptop-size safe, and Wi-Fi access throughout the property.
One of the most sought-after room categories is the petite suite with direct pool access – a ground-floor room with a furnished terrace leading straight into the water, ideal for families who want the pool right outside their bed.
And perhaps this is where SENSEANA’s real secret lies: the hotel has roughly 180 rooms “only” – about a third of the average room count at comparable all-inclusive hotels in Greece, and a fraction of the mega-resorts that house thousands of guests at once in Antalya, Turkey.
