Not surprisingly, Jerry Seinfeld, the most successful comedian in American entertainment history, is also the wealthiest comedian in the world.
Although the iconic sitcom bearing his name, which he created with his friend Larry David in the late 80s, ended a quarter-century ago, Jerry Seinfeld continues to draw an ever-growing fanbase. His latest tour earned him more than $20 million. He earned another $20 million from Netflix, which paid an especially high amount for his new standup special “23 Hours to Kill.”
The sitcom star continues to earn enormous sums from his 90s hit creation: thanks to a massive deal with Netflix that paid $500 million for “Seinfeld” streaming rights for five years.
Alongside his endless professional work, the Jewish comedian has become, since October 7, one of the leading voices against antisemitism and one of the most prominent and successful spokespersons advocating for Israel globally. Seinfeld made a solidarity visit to Israel with his family to express support for the country at the height of the war.
During his visit here, Seinfeld, accompanied by his wife Jessica and their three children, visited Kibbutz Be’eri, one of the communities affected by the tragic events of October 7. There, they witnessed the scale of destruction and heard testimonies from survivors.
Subsequently, Seinfeld met with families of hostages and visited war wounded. “We saw homes where families were tortured, shot, bombed, and burned alive. We stood in the field where hundreds of young people were murdered and kidnapped at a music festival as they fled for their lives,” Jessica Seinfeld wrote on Instagram at the end of the visit.
“The horror of October 7 erased the differences within Israel. Everyone united for a greater purpose – to defeat Hamas, to build a better and safer Israel, and a better and safer world,” Seinfeld concluded with moving words that echoed throughout the world.
