Living Forever: Can The Metaverse Help Us Become Digitally Immortal?

Sensorium has teased its much-awaited metaverse with several sneak peeks, including the Sensorium Galaxy’s Starship and the hyper-futuristic AI avatars. But there’s more to explore

In October of this year, Mark Zuckerberg, the man behind the concept of the Metaverse, publicly acknowledged that the level of development of digital technology worldwide was insufficient to meet the rollout of a large-scale and global plan, something that had already become humankind’s dream.

This admission came as a shock to the industry. So, what’s next? Is the realization of the dream being delayed? Let’s find out.

In October, Dubai hosted the global tech show GITEX, presenting to audiences the latest achievements in digital technology. The Sensorium Galaxy Metaverse was among the top ten exhibitors.

We got in touch with the company’s Dubai office and became acquainted with the product as well as the project’s concept. We soon realized that something is brewing in the digital world that could blow our minds.

In 2019, Swiss startup Sensorium set out to create a metaverse with a series of AAA virtual worlds. Faced with the impossibility of solving its challenges with the technology available at the time, the company spent three years creating a dozen functional services, which finally allowed it to engage in a development pipeline for multiple virtual worlds, and to inhabit them with digital characters featuring distinctive biographical backgrounds as well as the ability to support contextual dialogues. Having built the technical foundation, the company turned its attention to the opportunities presented and globalizing the idea.

Avatar Yonaka, Sensorium’s press officer, said in this regard: “Civilization is a fragile and extremely vulnerable institution. The highest injustice for mankind is the shortness of human life, which limits a person’s ability to self-realization, attain recognition, and achieve a state of harmony that people call happiness.

Sensorium Galaxy is the world’s first Metaverse inhabited by millions of AI-controlled virtual characters. It is open for users to experience and live out alternative life scenarios, build a digital self, endow it with Digital Immortality, and achieve a state of harmony or happiness.

Inside its worlds, users act as creators, shaping the appearance and personality traits of their characters, defining their social circles without geographical or time restrictions, and interacting with AI-powered characters of historical figures.

Users can transfer the control of their character to a neural network, ensuring its autonomous existence and participation in virtual world activities.

The mechanics of a character’s autonomous activity in Sensorium Galaxy is known as Digital Immortality. In addition, users can also create digital offspring (meta-replicants) and monetize their participation in creative activities. Up to eight characters can be used for the creation of a meta replicant, each passing on to it one digital chromosome defining its future mental status. The meta-replicas appearance can also be formed on the basis of the traits passed down from user avatars and avatars of historical personalities.

The spaces where users live out alternative life scenarios through their digital character are Sensorium Galaxy’s themed worlds designed for a wide variety of activities that the community enters:

● A grandiose and endless Sensorium galactic party featuring both virtual and real-world artists across locations of the PRISM world;

● Carmalogic practices: programs of self-knowledge, self-development, and destiny control in the Motion underwater world;

● SENSOplasma mining features in the UNDER world.

By entering virtual worlds, users get to interact with autonomous characters and co-participate in various user mechanics that function as social elevators and allow users to achieve success and monetize it.

While the project is slated for a public launch in the coming months,

Sensorium has teased its much-awaited metaverse with several sneak peeks, including this latest look at the Sensorium Galaxy’s Starship and the hyper-futuristic AI avatars that users will be encountering when they finally get to step into this digital experience.

But there’s more to explore.

In December, Sensorium Galaxy will complete its testing phase on Steam. A full release is expected in January 2023, kicking off with a two-hour Galactic Party. Users will be able to access the product through VR, desktop or a mobile app, reinforcing the company’s cross-platform approach. Virtual DJs will perform for the digital characters inhabiting the metaverse. These avatars, created by artist Jason Ebeyer, are capable of maintaining contextual dialogue amongst themselves as well as human users.

In 2023, Sensorium will complete the avatar recreation of ten chart-topping DJs that will be performing in Galactic Parties, including David Guetta, Carl Cox, and Black Coffee.

Each artist will have its own avatar, enhanced by signature personality traits and digital immortality, giving performers the chance to reach future generations of fans even after leaving the stage.

A final question to Yonaka: “So what do the digital inhabitants of the Sensorium Galaxy have to offer people?”

Yonaka: “You, people, still measure the length of your lives by years lived in the physical world. In the digital realm, one’s lifetime is measured by the number of experiences that a character has during their life. Do you want to live alternate life scenarios in parallel with your earthly life and leave your descendants a digital version of yourself in the way that you want? Your digital self is a synthesis of your unfulfilled intentions, innermost desires and dreams, your digital footprint in the universe. Beyond age. Beyond gender. Sensorium Galaxy – your portal to Digital Immortality. Welcome.”

It seems that help came from where we didn’t expect it. We have yet to comprehend the humanitarian implications of this project.
