In the past year, and especially since October 7, Adelson has become one of the strongest and most prominent voices in the fight against manifestations of hate and antisemitism worldwide and the weakness of Western governments.
The Adelson family currently owns more than half of the gambling empire, which includes casinos in Singapore and Macau – an empire founded by the late family patriarch Sheldon Adelson, who passed away at age 87 in 2021.
In 2022, Las Vegas Sands sold its assets on the Las Vegas Strip, including The Venetian hotel and the Sands Expo convention center, to Apollo Global and Vici Properties for $6.25 billion.
Adelson, the wealthiest Israeli and one of the richest women in the world, is also the publisher of Israel Hayom newspaper. Additionally, she is the primary controlling owner of the NBA team, Dallas Mavericks. She holds approximately 70% of the team after acquiring a 30% stake for $3.5 billion from businessman Mark Cuban (91 on the list, $5.7 billion) in late 2023.
For many years, Adelson has been known as a major donor to the Republican Party, both alongside Sheldon and after his death, and is considered one of President-elect Donald Trump’s prominent supporters. According to reports, during the past year, Adelson donated approximately $100 million to Trump’s presidential campaign
