On 30 September, Dr Musayev was travelling from Dubai to Tel Aviv when the aircraft’s captain, Smit Machchhar, was attacked inside the cockpit. As crew members and passengers worked together to restrain the attacker and secure the aircraft, Dr Musayev stepped forward to provide emergency medical assistance to the seriously injured captain.
Despite the extraordinary circumstances, he applied sustained pressure to control severe bleeding, monitored the captain’s condition and reassured him until the aircraft landed safely in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. His intervention formed part of a collective response involving the pilots, cabin crew and fellow passengers.
